A photoshoot initially created with the intention of being presented as an work for the photography course, but later submitted as a visual essay to the XIV Simpósio de Arte, an artistic event held in 2025 that establishes itself as a space for dialogue, exchange, and deeper engagement between teaching, research, and artistic practice. With the theme “Artes integradas e os desafios do agora”, the event proposes a reflection on how contemporary artistic practices respond to the social, political, and cultural urgencies of today, articulating interdisciplinary experiences, research-creation projects, and pedagogical laboratories.

Visual Essay - ENQUADRADO: UM AUTORRETRATO

In this research work, I present arguments about whether photography in video games can be considered photography or not. All the images were created in Minecraft using the mod Exposure. These records are very important to me, as they were taken during my first interactions with the game, capturing a moment that will never return—a moment when I was simply exploring this new world. For that reason, it is also a self-portrait.
